Ethos108 Café Society SPEAKER ROSTER
Where Powerful Voices Meet Engaged Audiences
We believe in two fail-proof equations:
Dynamic Speakers = Dynamic Events
Dynamic Advisors = Dynamic Results
Inspired by the historic spirit of Café Society—a place where groundbreaking performers brought people together across backgrounds—Ethos108’s Café Society highlights speakers whose ideas, stories, and expertise capture attention and spark meaningful conversation.
In the 1930s and 1940s, Café Society in New York City became a groundbreaking space where people of different backgrounds could gather to experience music, culture, and ideas together. At a time when many venues segregated audiences, Café Society welcomed everyone—allowing Black entertainers and Black audiences to share the same space in appreciation of powerful performances.
Legendary artists like Billie Holiday performed there, including her haunting song “Strange Fruit.” So profound was the message of the song that the club’s owner asked for complete silence during the performance—no drinks, no distractions—so the audience could give their full attention to the moment.
Inspired by that legacy, Ethos108’s Café Society celebrates voices that move audiences, spark thought, and inspire change. Our community includes accomplished professionals, authors, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders who bring powerful stories, insights, and expertise to audiences everywhere.
When you invite a speaker from Ethos108, you’re welcoming someone who—much like those historic performances at Café Society—has the ability to capture attention, provoke thought, and leave a lasting impression.
Explore the speakers within the Ethos108 Café Society and discover voices ready to inform, inspire, and engage your audience.

Melanie L. Joell, PhD
LOVING CONNECTIONS PSYCHOTHERAPY, LLC
I have always believed in the innate goodness of others, that inside each person lies the desire to have peaceful, fulfilling relationships. Life's circumstances, however, can sometimes adversely affect an individual to the point that they lose the capacity to maintain healthy connections. Depression, anxiety, and poor interpersonal relationships are all too common. I have seen it in my personal and professional life, and I am sure you have seen it as well.
I received my Doctorate degree in Couple & Family therapy from Drexel University. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Maryland. My work in the field of mental health spans for over fifteen years and includes providing therapy in partial hospitalization, residential treatment, and community mental health settings. I believe that therapy is a collaboration between client and therapist where the client is the expert of their own life. My role is to assist you in identifying your strengths and resources, and provide symptom relief through the use of therapeutic techniques. My approach is holistic and integrative, incorporating the mind, body, and spirit into therapy sessions.
